COVID-19 PANDEMIC – ACCESS TO LEGAL SERVICES & SAFETY MEASURES
Firstly, to prevent any potential spread of infection, we are advising staff to stay home if they feel ill and to self-isolate if they or anyone close to them has recently traveled, or if they are considered high risk. Many staff can work remotely. Effective March 5th, we made a number of changes to a number of our firm policies and we have no reported cases of staff or family members being directly affected by the virus.
The following are some of the measures we have put in place:
First time consultations: No cancellation fees. If you must cancel or reschedule your appointment, no cancellation fees will apply. We are encouraging telephone appointments in place of in person consultations.
Ongoing Files/Current clients: We are encouraging telephone or on-line appointments/meetings whenever possible.
Extra measures with our cleaning protocols have been put in place such as wiping down with antibacterial/virus wipes high traffic surfaces between client meetings such as our boardroom tables, chairs and door handles. Hand sanitizer and tissues are also available in reception and boardrooms.
We have put into place a contingency plan in the event our office may be required to close to allow us to operate remotely, possibly for an extended period of time. We have invested in technology to allow us to operate in this manner should the need arise with limited disruptions to our operations. We will be offering and holding more and more meetings online or by telephone conference to reduce overall traffic to our office to provide access to services to those who prefer (or are required) to stay home.
Until we determine it is safe to do so, our staff will not be attending out of office business meetings or seminars in person.
We at AGB Lawyers remain committed to delivering reliable solutions through life’s transitions and wish you and your families remain safe and healthy during this challenging time. Together, our society will overcome these challenges. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please contact Kristina Lewis, at email@example.com or call 613-232-8832 ext. 232.
